The Wine Society is widely regarded as Australia's original wine club. Since Dr Gilbert Phillips and a few of his wine-loving friends founded our co-operative way back in 1946, we've been scouring the country and beyond to unearth the very best wines for our Members.
Now well into the next century, we've grown hugely in size, but our spirit remains the same. As a not-for-profit cooperative we stand apart in an industry increasingly dominated by supermarket giants. And our cooperative status means that all profits are reinvested back into the business, resulting in better wine, better service and even better prices.
Our core purpose is still to source top quality wine at competitive prices for our Members and our passion is for the little guy. Independent producers, small parcels, little-known wines and future classics; these are the things that excite us – wines with a story.
But we're more than just the source of your next great bottle. The Wine Society is a community of likeminded people, brought together by a love of wine. Together we share experiences, opinions and, of course, wine. We get together for masterclasses, dinners and more. We enjoy fabulous wines and equally fabulous company and we learn a little along the way.
