5 Star Winery – James Halliday
McWilliam’s Mount Pleasant Elizabeth Semillon 2003
Hunter Valley, NSW
This wine exhibits qualities typical of quality Semillon from a warm vintage. Aromas of pronounced green apple and lime zest, with developing secondary characters of toast and crushed herbs are on the nose. The palate is soft, round and generous with lime and lemon flavours dominating. The back palate reveals the beginnings of Hunter Semillon aged characters of toast and lanolin. The complex and refined palate is well complemented by the fresh, clean finish.

Cellar: Up to 2012.
Food match: Barbeque sand whiting with fennel scallops.
