Case Contents

2 X Tyrrell's Lunatiq Heathcote Shiraz 2009

The wine has a dense red/purple colour, a great lift of mulberry and plum fruit and soft, integrated, spicy chocolate oak on the nose. The palate is rich and robust whilst maintaining the finesse and elegance that typifies the region.

2 X Rutherglen Estates Reserve Durif 2007

Intense varietal berry and stewed cherry notes, mixed fruit spice, licorice, chocolate and cedar from elegant oak enhancement.

2 X Ciao Vino Sangiovese 2009 (cork)

Pure cherry flavours on the medium-bodied palate combine with savoury tannins leading to a lingering finish with a kick of fruity acidity.

2 X Plantagenet Museum Release Riesling 2004

2 X Telmo Rodriguez Basa Blanco 2009

Subtle but delicious fruit flavours, and a gentle crunchy palate. Great texture without overtly fructose, perfectly savoury minerality and superb length.

2 X Dr Gilbert Phillips Mornington Chard 09

Mornington Peninsula produces some highly acclaimed cool-climate wines, notably Pinot and Chardonnay. Subtle aromas of melon and stone fruit intermingle with nutty oak. The palate is tight and structured with generous stone fruit flavours combining with quality oak to give a finely textured mid-palate. A citrus acidity enhances the fruit flavours and ensures a crisp, clean finish. This super premium wine was proudly commissioned by The Wine Society in commemoration of the contribution to Australian wine consumers of our founder, Dr Gilbert Phillips.
