Kilikanoon winemaker, Kevin Mitchell, decided he needed a change. His achievements at Kilikanoon (including Winery of the Year in 2013) though impressive stirred a longing for starting something new. So in 2004 when the Woodvale Watervale property came on the market, Kevin and Kathleen Bourne jumped at the opportunity to plant a vineyard and produce their own label of wines.
Initially focused on crafting small batches of Clare Valley’s key varieties, Riesling and Shiraz, Kevin and Kathleen then expanded and began incorporating Grenache, Cabernet, Mataro and other varietals onto their vineyard. It was their close attention to detail and continual desire for perfection that earned them a spot on Australia’s Top Ten New Wineries in the 2018 Halliday Wine Companion.
Outstanding examples of top quality Clare Valley wines, these gems are grabbing the attention of critics and wine lovers alike. Grab a case and see what all the fuss is about - you won’t be disappointed.
