Cabernet Sauvignon’s spiritual home, and perhaps its true origin, is in Bordeaux, where it tends to be blended with other varieties such as Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Australian Cab Savs are commonly made as single varietal wines, with Coonawarra and Margaret River heading most wine lovers’ lists of Cabernet regions.
Rich plums, rhubarb and spice aromas accompany the balanced palate, which is filled with red berries, toasty oak and soft tannins. A great food wine.
