Cabernet Sauvignon’s spiritual home, and perhaps its true origin, is in Bordeaux, where it tends to be blended with other varieties such as Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Australian Cab Savs are commonly made as single varietal wines, with Coonawarra and Margaret River heading most wine lovers’ lists of Cabernet regions.
The Roche Mazet Cabernet Sauvignon displays an intense red hue with lovely ruby tints. It is aged in wood and has a silky, well-balanced structure. Aromas of blackcurrant, cherry and truffle on the nose mingle with hints of vanilla. Elegance is the keynote on the palate, with hints of red fruit and the characteristic Roche Mazet woodiness on the finish. Winery Note.
