One of the most widely planted grapes in the world, Grenache thrives in the hot dry climates of France’s Rhône Valley and in Spain, where it is known as Garnacha. Unsurprisingly, it has also proved a success in Australia’s warmer wine regions. It is often blended with Shiraz and Mourvèdre to make robust ‘Rhône blend’ wines.
