Pinot Noir is best known for the light- to medium-bodied reds of regions such as Burgundy and Central Otago (and, in Australia, Tasmania and Adelaide Hills). It also forms part of the classic Champagne blend and is a key contributor to many of the best sparklings. Pinot makes excellent rosés too, with the variety’s delicate charms perfectly suiting this lighter style.

“This is a fine and elegant style of Pinot Noir. Perhaps a little lighter in colour than some Pinots, this wine nevertheless has lovely aromatics and a perfume reminiscent of strawberries along with a savoury note. This savoury note carries through onto the medium-bodied palate, complementing the attractive sweet fruit. A refined style with a beautifully framed structure and excellent length of flavour. Most enjoyable in all respects.” Tasting Panellist Ian McKenzie
