Pinot Noir is best known for the light- to medium-bodied reds of regions such as Burgundy and Central Otago (and, in Australia, Tasmania and Adelaide Hills). It also forms part of the classic Champagne blend and is a key contributor to many of the best sparklings. Pinot makes excellent rosés too, with the variety’s delicate charms perfectly suiting this lighter style.
Intense in flavour but with an appealing lightness of touch, this elegant Syrah combines red and black fruits with savoury characters. New oak plays a part without dominating the fruit and tannins are fine-grained. The wine will age with grace but is already drinking well.

Delicacy and structure combined in the way only a good Pinot can. Intoxicating cherry and smoked meat aromas lead to cranberry tartness on the palate and plentiful fine tannins.

"Sapid, cool and tangy red fruit, etched with the sort of fine-grained tannic composure and pulsing acidity, seldom seen outside of Burgundy. The oak sits in there somewhere, perfectly integrated. Like berries bursting through the mouth. The sweetness is detectable, yet never trop. A north-facing site, embedded with a soprano personality." Halliday Wine Companion

"[it's] perfumed and has more sweetness to its fruit than many of its vintage brethren. You could almost drink this young and get the full experience though it will benefit greatly given time to soften and evolve. Forest berries, spice, cool garden herbs, mineral and a kiss of sweet/cedary/smoky oak. The fruit feels silken, the tannin feels gruff, but they’re not at odds, they’re managing to get along. It’s going places, this pinot noir." Campbell Mattinson
