Shiraz is Australia’s favourite variety, and its big, bold and full-bodied reds from regions such as the Barossa Valley have helped put Australia on the world wine map. Its spiritual home though is France’s Rhône Valley, where it is known as Syrah and produces wines typically lighter in body and alcohol. Sometimes Australian Shiraz is labelled as Syrah to indicate its specific style.
Lifted black fruit aromas with a touch of pepper and spice and an underlying smoky/gamey tone. The palate is juicy and balanced with just a hint of oak on the finish.
