Shiraz is Australia’s favourite variety, and its big, bold and full-bodied reds from regions such as the Barossa Valley have helped put Australia on the world wine map. Its spiritual home though is France’s Rhône Valley, where it is known as Syrah and produces wines typically lighter in body and alcohol. Sometimes Australian Shiraz is labelled as Syrah to indicate its specific style.
Structure and complexity does not have to come at a cost. This classic Rhône valley blend delivers concentrated Morello cherry, spice and tobacco at an extremely modest price. A great match for spicy foods, red meats and cheeses, it is best served a little below room temperature, say 14-16°C.

Item Code: ITM22914
"It’s a substantial red wine with fruit – rather than oak – to the fore. It’s a pure expression of shiraz in a Barossa landscape. It tastes of coal and blackberry jam, campfire and cloves, but it’s that hearty hit of blackberried – tinged with raspberry – fruit that really characterises it. It's a faultless Shiraz, from all angles." Campbell Mattinson

The flavours span blackberry, plum and cherry, the tannins ripe and balanced in a medium-bodied palate. Large oak vats and smaller French and American barrels were used in maturation.” Halliday Wine Companion

Firm through the finish. Not a big wine but a wine of balance and style. Pretty keen buying." Campbell Mattinson
