Chardonnay is one of the world’s most popular grape varieties; originally from France’s Burgundy region, today it is planted almost anywhere that wine is produced. Chardonnay has a relatively neutral flavour profile, which allows winemakers to use a variety of skills and techniques to create a wide range of styles from taut and linear to rich and buttery.
Complex and textural with citrus, subtle oak and generous weight. Rich yet fresh with creamy undertones and balanced acidity. A great food wine.

Sourced from a small selection of Tyrrell’s favourite Chardonnay blocks, this wine was matured in French oak barriques, and spent time on yeast lees to give the palate added complexity and texture. It shows lifted citrus with a slight hint of oak, with both weight and balance.

"Behind the pale straw colour are fresh vibrant aromatics of stone fruits and melons with a hint of vanilla oak. The palate is soft and juicy with great acidity driving a long finish. Made to be enjoyed in its youth, this rich full Chardonnay will nonetheless benefit from some short term cellaring." Mike De Iuliis Winemaker
