Chardonnay is one of the world’s most popular grape varieties; originally from France’s Burgundy region, today it is planted almost anywhere that wine is produced. Chardonnay has a relatively neutral flavour profile, which allows winemakers to use a variety of skills and techniques to create a wide range of styles from taut and linear to rich and buttery.
"Flinty-mineral character over lemon balm, subtle floral notes. Pretty perfume. Edgy palate, lean and racy, skeletal threads of green apple and grapefruit juice laced with flinty mineral feel. It’s tight, puckering, blisteringly fresh and rapier-like in the mouth. Quite a formidable wine, in its understated, bony style. For enthusiasts of racier styles, this is righteous." Mike Bennie
