Chardonnay is one of the world’s most popular grape varieties; originally from France’s Burgundy region, today it is planted almost anywhere that wine is produced. Chardonnay has a relatively neutral flavour profile, which allows winemakers to use a variety of skills and techniques to create a wide range of styles from taut and linear to rich and buttery.
A savoury nose of struck match and gun flint, coupled with a nutty, nougat oakiness. This is a big, bold Chardonnay, with a creamy/buttery palate, finishing with honeyed nut notes and lashings of vanillin oak. Recommended.
