Riesling probably has its origins in Germany, on the banks of the Rhine and Mosel rivers, where it has been cultivated at least as far back as 1435. Alsace in north eastern France is Riesling’s other traditional home. Today, Australia can lay claim to some of the finest Rieslings in the world, with the Clare Valley, Eden Valley and Tasmania earning particular global acclaim.
Pale straw in colour with delicate flavours of grapefruit and lychee. These traits continue on the palate where intense citrus characters add balance and lead to a refreshing finish.

Phil Lehmann (St John’s Road winemaker) and John Vickery are in partnership to produce the Vickery Rieslings and so it’s no coincidence that this wine is very nice indeed! An excellent example of for what Watervale is famous, Riesling! It has intensely varietal fragrant aromas of ripe lime and orange blossom which appear to jump from the glass. The palate is rich and ripe with an exceptional depth of flavour supported by lively acidity which contributes to the overall balance and length.

Complex aromas of talc, lime zest, citrus blossom and stony mineral notes. The palate is elegant and linear, with great concentration and depth. Crisp, green apple acidity carries the wine through to the long finish, supported by honey characters and a steely mineral edge. Outstanding.

"Peglidis presents itself as a wine of intensity and depth with complex flavours that are quite savoury in outlook. Coriander seeds, lemon salt, aspirin and wet slate. Of course, there's excellent fruit and acid balance, both key to its vibrancy, detail and potential age-worthiness. On song."Halliday Wine Companion
