Semillon’s traditional home is in Bordeaux, where it is nearly always blended with Sauvignon Blanc. This style is emulated with great success in Western Australia. Australia, uniquely, also produces high quality wine solely from Semillon. Hunter Valley Semillon, with its crisp citrus flavours and its exceptional ability to develop with age, is one of Australia’s great contributions to the world of wine.
A classic Hunter Valley Semillon. A delicate blossom balances the lime zest on the nose. The palate is rich and powerful with lush fruit flavours and a zesty minerality that results in a moreish wine, that you will want to drink time and time again.

“A touch of smokiness and sulphur, lime and lemongrass, almost water-coloured, such is the subtlety, with pure minerally acidity, a light chalky texture, long clean length, with a dusting of spice in both texture and flavour to close. Beautiful. Finesse and precision.” Gary Walsh

Sourced from Major Lane Vineyard, which has consistently some of the Hunters most outstanding Semillons, and this wine is no different. Subtle aromatics of citrus and floral notes. The palate displays an amazing structure made up of a refreshing line of acidity leading to a finish of great length and flavour.

Young and sophisticated, this wine boasts great intensity. There are layers of flavours; lemon and lime are complemented by notes of ripe quince and apricot on the palate. A good line of acidity holds the wine together, contributing balance, freshness and a long lasting finish.

“Honey and straw come into the fray, with the explosive lemon zest on the nose deepening into a richer lemon curd – pure hedonism. The palate is a remarkable disconnect. With honey still prominent, a searing acid line, unphased by age, remains in all its mouth-puckering glory. Absolutely singing now, but its future is in the cellar.” Winemaker Andrew Margan

"Elevated, grassy aromatics introduce an intensely textured and flavoured palate. This is where holding wines back from release is keenly in the drinker's favour. Lemon pith, wax, hay and lemongrass flavours do everything possible to both charm and impress." James Halliday

With time on its side, it comes ready with citrus, restraint and complexity that will continue to develop over time.
