Hailing from the original 1946 Lovedale vineyard, planted by the late Maurice O’Shea himself. With time on its side, it comes ready with citrus, restraint and complexity that will continue to develop over time. A great wine with the classic citrus and lively acidity for which the Hunter is renowned.
Pale straw yellow in colour with complex aromas of citrus and stone fruit with light toasty notes. Time in French oak has created a plush, creamy palate that is both rich and mouth-filling. The zesty acid forms a balanced framework for the wine, which finishes with an elegant, long farewell.
The nose is fresh and bright with floral notes and a chalky lift. On the palate, intense citrus flavours are balanced by savoury notes, while barrel fermentation and lees stirring has imparted a supple texture. This is a pure and honest Sancerre with a wonderfully long and tangy finish.
From a single vineyard planted circa 1900 comes this powerful wine. It’s rich and generous with soft tannins supporting pure red fruits.
Blackcurrant, earth and cedar aromas leap from the glass, while the palate shows generous notes of blackberry and cassis with minty undertones and a fresh acid line.
This wine is all about harmony and balance. Ripe strawberry and cherry flavours fuse with gamey, mushroom and herbal tones, while toasty oak highlights a spicy lift on the back palate. Supple tannins contribute to a silky mouthfeel and lead to a wonderfully persistent finish.
