Hello Wine Society members and welcome to a bumper edition of The Wine Society Monthly – our new look catalogue. I’m particularly proud of this edition as we continue to listen to your feedback and move forward with exciting new products, promotions and partnerships. The front cover features a collaboration I couldn’t be happier with. I dropped in to see Charles Smedley at Mandala (thanks for the cuppa Charles) just after this wine was bottled and was struck by how much dedication Mandala have to this product; they really are trying to impress you all! We have also refreshed a member favourite and are proud to relaunch the Very Old Vines Shiraz by Colin Glaetzer in new livery.
This edition is simply brimming with excitement: elegant Tassie wines, super popular Barossa Shiraz, highly rated drops and of course the ‘budburst’ of summer, Champagne. We’ve included some mystery in the form of a highly regarded Pinot and a ripper Riesling for those looking for a bargain. Our continued effort to source new and exciting product for you is helped immensely by our partnership with Cracka Wines and our continued efforts to collectively grow and renew our Society – watch this space as there is some very exciting news brewing.
Enjoy the publication, check out my picks below and as usual don’t hesitate to drop me a note with any feedback at email@example.com.
"This is intensely aromatic on the nose showing passionfruit, feijoa, lemon/lime peel and fresh apple notes. The palate displays vibrant fruit intensity and lovely fruit purity, backed by refreshing acidity, making it immediately appealing." Sam Kim

"Oozing all the charm of Clare Valley starting with its dark purple hue, its fragrance of Chinese five spice, graphite and menthol with tangy black plums, currants and tart tamarind-acidity. The well-composed palate incorporates finely-chiselled savoury tannins and plenty of joy in between." Halliday Wine Companion
Item Code: ITM20301
A modern expression of Margaret River Chardonnay with notes of citrus and flint on the nose. The palate is layered with ripe stonefruit intertwined with understated oak characters, which combines with a good mineral drive to create lovely complexity.
Item Code: ITM15320
Wonderfully complex aromas of blackcurrant, mulberry and rhubarb, lifted by spice and pencil shavings, and underpinned by a herbal, savoury feel. The palate is structured and elegant showing concentration and restraint, and finely detailed too. Will reward careful cellaring. Excellent.
