The 2019 Summer White will be the Joyson Vineyards Chardonnay 2018. Owned by Brett Joyce from Pike & Joyce in the Adelaide Hills, Joyson Vineyards is a small boutique producer, whose philosophy is to produce the best quality fruit possible, so the wines are pure in character and flavour.
Members of our buying team recently tried a barrel sample and reported back that this wine is shaping up to be a generous wine of texture and flavour. It’s currently maturing in French oak barrels, developing it flavours and textures which will soon be bottled so it’s ready for you to enjoy.

The Joyce family heritage was originally established in horticulture with the production of apple orchards. In 1998 the Joyce family came together with the Pike family (who have a long heritage in winemaking and viticulture) to create Pike & Joyce and allowed them to create dive into the wine industry. Mark and Brett Joyce’s horticultural knowledge quickly transferred to viticulture where they knew how to get the best quality fruit to produce premium wines.
The fruit for this wine was harvested in the cool early morning and then delivered to the winery where it was chilled, destemmed and crushed. After fermentation half of the wine was allowed to complete a secondary malolactic fermentation while the other was left to mature on lees for eight months in French oak giving the wine its nutty flavours and rich texture.
This wine displays aromas of lime and grapefruit on the nose. The palate bursts with vibrant citrus flavours, followed by a creamy mid-palate. Clean acidity adds balance and leads to a crisp and refreshing finish.
